Watch Membership
All Members are registered with the scheme and provisions made for the collection and dissemination of intelligence, security and crime prevention information.
Shared CCTV Schemes (SCCTV)
- Areas where cameras are installed so that they can view multiply companies, roads and public spaces. AMS provides the personnel to man the CCTV control room, which operates on a continuous 24-hour basis. The Security officer on duty provides the shared CCTV services from 1800hrs each evening until 0600 each morning each week night and from 1800 hrs Friday through to 0600 hours Monday. During bank holidays and prolonged holidays the scheme is manned in response to information provided by members of the scheme.
- The cameras are recorded digitally continuously on a 31-day cycle. Camera presets and tours are set in accordance with information provided. The police are informed of incidents as they occur.
Detector Activated Monitoring - CCTV Systems (DAM)
Detector activated schemes are usually set on site to suit specific requirements, operating normally outside working hours the cameras images are viewed in response to local activations and the appropriate action taken.
Video Activated Monitoring - (VAM)
Video activated schemes are usually set on site to suit specific requirements, operating normally outside working hours the camera images are viewed in response to local activations and the appropriate action taken.
Camera Patrols - (CP)
The CCTV operator carries out periodic camera patrols when camera systems are not equipped with automatic detectors or with video detection.
Incident Response - (IR)
In the event of irregular activations or poor system operation, the CCTV Operator can be given the facility to ask for a mobile response vehicle to attend site and check the premises in question. This type of service is also used to check individuals who fail to respond correctly when working with lone working arrangements.
Key Holding - (KH)
Keys can be held in any one of a number of ways determined by agreement with the client and any specific requirements. On site (in a keysafe) In a secure location locally, With the Mobile response company or with the CCTV Control room. Before the Key holding service can commence, a Key holding service information sheet will normally require completing on site with both the Member's representative and the Private Security Service Provider present.
Alarm Response - (AR)
- Where a Member already has an alarm-monitoring contract with an Alarm Company or alarm-receiving station then the Member can nominate the Partnership with a Security Service provider as the first key holder and the CCTV control room as the second. Where the Member has a simple dial out system this can be set to call the CCTV Control room with an agreed course of action followed.
- If the alarm system operates and the Police, Fire or other emergency service are called out by the Company to attend then: -
- The Security Officer will first check for signs of a break in.
- If the Security Officer does not see any sign of a break in he will open the Premises in the presence of the Police or if and when available an Alarm Engineer and / or a second person as agreed or in discussion with CCTV control.
- If the Security Officer sees a sign of a break in he will open the premises only in the presence of the police.
- If the alarm appears to be satisfactory to the Security Officer, he will try to reset it.
- If he is unable to reset it or it appears unsatisfactory he will notify the Alarm Company and follow the agreed procedure.
Call out - (IR or AR)
- Where the Member does not pay for mobile security services and a Call out is made then an additional charge becomes due at the rate of £35.00 per hour.
- Where the Member does pay for mobile security services and a Call out is made then additional charges, at the same rate, only become due after the first hour in attendance for any one incident in any period.
Shared Mobile Security Service - (SMPV)
- During the specified hours the Security Officer will carry out periodic patrols. All patrols will be determined by the CCTV Supervisor or the Security Manager and will be staggered. Patrol routes will vary throughout the shift roster.
- The Security Officer will use a high visibility liveried vehicle.
- Predetermined points and / or Members premises will be visited, as specified for Mobile patrol visits and when required recorded on every patrol. All call logging points will be sited within the CCTV coverage.
Mobile Visits - (MPV)
- During patrols the Security Officer will check the premises of the Members who have specified mobile visits to their site.
- Should any building damage be evident the Security Officer will notify the Operation supervisor and the Member, whose building is damages, using the approved method, ensuring that appropriate action is taken.
- During the patrols, the mobile Security Officer will wear high visibility clothing and he will be equipped with a high power torch and mobile communication equipment.
Lock up - (LU)
Lock up's where an individual member's premises are secured, can only be undertaken following a detailed survey and subsequent agreement. Lock ups are not undertaken on shared security schemes.
Unlock - (UL)
Where a member's site has appropriate access control and CCTV monitoring arrangement can be made for their premises to be unlocked prior to staff arriving. A site survey is required before this work can be undertaken.
Man Guarding - (MG) & Man Guarding with dog - (MGD)
These services are provided on an hourly rate basis, subject to individual agreement.
Lone Worker Arrangements - (LWA)
Individual workers on site or out of hours visitors can be supported in a number of ways, subject to individual requirements.
Deliveries
Specific arrangement for any out of hours deliveries requiring extra security.
