Crime mappingDerbyshire Constabulary and Nottinghamshire Police have launched their interactive crime mapping websites.

Using a simple, user-friendly interface and highly-detailed Ordnance Survey maps, it allows people to enter their postcode or area name and from this find out the latest crime statistics for their Safer Neighbourhood area.

Visitors to the site can view the number of crimes per 1,000 population and actual crime numbers - and how this level compares to the previous year.

Updated on a monthly basis, the crime statistics show the total numbers of crimes, and can then be broken down further into categories such as burglary, robbery, vehicle crime, violence and anti-social behaviour.

Users will also be able to stay up-to-date by subscribing to an RSS feed, so they can be notified when the latest information is ready for viewing.
