About BusinessWatch

Why not let the Chamber help you take care of your security?

Business securityBusinessWatch aims to help businesses, to improve security and prevent crime, by working with them to identify the problems and provide solutions. Beginning in 1995, the scheme has helped to improve security for over 1,000 companies, preventing business crime and reducing the ongoing cost of improved security.

One of the most effective ways of fighting crime and ultimately reducing the financial impact is by working together in your local area. Businesswatch offers the opportunity to participate, to share information, and increase awareness of the issues and a way to keep everyone up to date with what is happening. It provides an easy route by which to report suspicious activity observed by vigilant staff and the potential to provide cost effective solutions on a shared basis.

How do I get involved?

Working together to share information and best practice.Get in touch with Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce. Ask if a Businesswatch group already operates in your area. If it does the co-ordinator will explain how to join Businesswatch, what services are currently being provided in your area and how to benefit. If not, it may be possible that a nearby scheme can be extended to include your locality or that a new group can be started in your area. Either way we will be able to help.

How does BusinessWatch work?

Following the receipt of your enquiry, a member of the BusinessWatch team will contact you and discuss your requirements. If you are in an area where a scheme already exists we will explain the current security arrangements in your locality, how you can participate in the scheme and how you can benefit.

If you are local to an existing scheme we will consider how any current arrangements can be extended and discuss this with you, explaining how you can participate in the scheme.

If there isn't a scheme near you we will consider the situation and advise what the current security arrangements are in your locality, how you can participate and how you can benefit. If we have already received previous enquiries in your area it may be appropriate to consider starting a new scheme. If this is the case we will contact your business neighbours undertaking a survey to determine the level of interest and support. Once companies have joined BusinessWatch we are able to establish the group email communication system, and develop and implement any action plans

Where individual companies require additional support or crime prevention surveys or risk assessments these can be organized as required.
