DNCC Introduce a new BusinessWatch incident reporting system

BusinessWatch has traditionally used a system that utilises both emails and telephone calls to enable members to report areas of concern that can immediately be shared with other members of BusinessWatch for crime prevention purposes.

The system is not designed to replace the use of the police's non-essential telephone reporting system but to supplement it by sharing information usually about suspicious activity and possible incidents before a crime is committed.

The new BusinessWatch web based system will not only maintain this aspect it will also provide the means to gather, maintain and order intelligence, information, and sightings enabling this information to be verified over time and used pro-actively for crime prevention purposes

The BusinessWatch incident reporting system is a web based secure system that allows registered BusinessWatch members to log in and send messages to other members in their local BusinessWatch group via the Chamber's Business Security team, who will where possible verify or validate the content in discussion with the police and other agencies.

An essential part of any Watch scheme is the immediate method of communication that ensures members are warned and can take preparatory action before an incident occurs.
